Organize your assets more effectively by setting up parent and sub-asset hierarchies. Linking assets into a structured hierarchy helps you manage related equipment, track dependencies and streamline asset organization.

- From the home screen, click into the Asset Management workspace.
- To establish a hierarchy, start by creating the parent assets first. For guidance, refer to our article on how to Create an Asset.
- Create a sub-asset by clicking on the plus button
in the bottom-right corner.
- To link your sub-asset to a parent asset, scroll down and click the Parent Asset field
. Select the asset that you want to serve as the parent asset for your sub-asset.
- Fill out any other details you need.
- Click Create
in the top-right corner.
- On the left-hand side, click into the Asset Management workspace.
- To establish a hierarchy, start by creating the parent assets first. For guidance, refer to our article on how to Create an Asset.
- Create a sub-asset by clicking on the New button
in the top-right corner.
- To link your sub-asset to a parent asset, scroll down and click the Parent Asset field
. Select the asset that you want to serve as the parent asset for your sub-asset.
- Fill out any other details you need.
- Click Create
in the top-right corner.
Now that you’ve set up your asset hierarchy, you can customize your Asset Management workspace view to group your assets by Parent Assets and save this view for your team members.
Note: Creating a custom view can only be done via desktop.
- In the Asset Management workspace, click the List View dropdown button
in the top-right corner.
- Select the Asset Hierarchy view.
- Under the workspace title, click the Group button
. Select Parent Asset
in the Grouped By dropdown menu, and select all of your Parent Assets by ticking their respective checkboxes
.
- Click the View Options button
, and then select the Save for Everyone option. This will customize the view to show all the sub-assets grouped by their parent assets.
