Workspaces can display cards in several types of views. Here's what each view shows, how it works on desktop and mobile, and how you can customize it.
Customization is currently available on desktop only.
In this article:
List View
List View displays cards in a scrolling vertical list, grouped into sections you can expand and collapse. Each section shows the number of cards it contains next to its title.
- Desktop: In the expanded view, cards appear as rows in a table, with fields shown as columns at the top of each section.
- Mobile: On mobile, or when the view is collapsed on the right side of your desktop screen, cards appear individually.
-
Customization:
- When you create a List View, choose which field to group cards by.
- Show or hide fields and field labels, and choose whether tags appear together in one column or in their own columns.
Board View
Board View displays cards in columns you can drag and drop between. It's available on desktop only.
- Desktop: Drag and drop cards to reorder them or move them to a different column, so you can update work and track progress visually.
- Mobile: Not available. Mobile users see a message to open this view on desktop.
-
Customization:
- When you create a Board View, choose which field to group cards by.
- Show or hide fields and field labels, and choose whether tags appear together in one field or in their own fields.
Calendar View
Calendar View shows your cards on a calendar by their due date. Cards without a due date don't appear on the calendar.
- Desktop: In the expanded view, see the calendar by Week or Month, and drag and drop cards between days to update your schedule. In Week view, you can also choose a field to group cards by.
- Mobile: On mobile, or when the view is collapsed on the right side of your desktop screen, cards appear in an agenda view.
-
Customization:
- Your workflow needs a Due Date field before you can create a Calendar View. Due Date is the only field this view can be organized by.
- Show or hide fields and field labels, and choose whether tags appear together in one field or in their own fields.
Table View
Table View shows many cards at once, ungrouped, with as many columns as you need, regardless of your screen width. It gives managers a top-level view of their team's work.
- Desktop: Cards appear as rows, with fields shown as columns.
- Mobile: Not available. Mobile users see a message to open this view on desktop.
-
Customization:
- Use the text field filter to pick a text field, such as Title, Notes, or Description, and enter a keyword like "repair," "dirty," or "replace" to find the cards you need.
- Show or hide fields and field labels, save your filters, and create custom groupings.
Tree View
Tree View shows how cards relate to each other in a parent-child hierarchy. It's only for workspaces with parent-child relationships, such as Locations and Asset Management.
- Desktop: Rows expand and collapse so you can focus on one level at a time. An item with an arrow in front of it has children, and an item with a circle in front of it is the last child.
- Mobile: Not available in the Coast mobile app yet.
-
Customization:
- For now, add Tree View manually: open the View dropdown, select Add a View, choose Tree, and click Create View. Soon, the Locations and Asset Management bundles will include Tree View when you install them.
- For step-by-step instructions, see Add a Tree View for Parent-Child Workspaces.
