Learn how to print QR codes to put on assets, so that your team members can scan the code and easily pull up details, right when they need it. Using QR codes enables quick identification of asset details like model or serial numbers, warranty information, past work orders or preventive maintenance performed, instruction manuals, associated vendors, sub assets, parts, downtime info and associated checklists.

- From the home screen, click into the Asset Management workspace.
- Click on the three-dot icon
in the top-right corner of the asset card you want to create a QR code for.
- Select Share.
- When the QR code appears, you can choose between two access options:
Team Access Only: Allows Coast users to view, update asset details and create work orders.
Public Access: Allows anyone to view asset details but prevents updates or changes. - To create a Public Access QR Code, toggle the Create Public Link button
.
- Click the Share QR Code button
for the QR code you want to share.
- Select Print or Save Image to download.
- Print the file, and attach the QR code to the corresponding asset.
- On the left-hand side, click into the Asset Management workspace.
- Click on the three-dot icon
in the top-right corner of the asset card you want to create a QR code for.
- Select Share.
- When the QR code appears, you can choose between two access options:

- Right click on the QR code you want to share. Select the Open Image in a New Tab option.
- Navigate to the tab with the QR code open. Right click on the background to see a list of options. Select the Print option.
- Print the file, and attach the QR code to the corresponding asset.
Steps to Scan a Coast QR Code via Your Mobile Device:
- Pull up your camera or QR code reader on your phone, and point it at the QR code.
- Look for the button or options on screen to direct you to the Coast link, and tap it.
- If you are logged into your Coast account and you have permission to see this card, the card should pull up directly on your phone. From here, you can update status, edit details, comment or add photos as your permission levels allow.
