A chat group's name gives people a better idea of what it's used for. At any point, you can rename an active chat group.
Steps to rename a chat group:

Desktop
- From the home screen, open the chat group that you want to rename.
- Tap the name of the chat group in the top middle

- Click on the pencil icon
in the top right corner. - Enter a new name under Group Name.
- Click Save in the top right corner.
- From the left hand side of the home screen, open the chat group that you want to rename.
- Click the name of the chat group in the top middle
.
- Click on the pencil icon in the top right corner of the card.
- Enter a new name under Group Name.
- Click Save in the top right corner. of the card.
