If you need to get a message out urgently, Coast allows you to send messages from Coast to your staff's personal mobile number as both a text message (SMS) and Coast notification marked as Urgent. Mention specific people in the message (by including @username) and only they will receive it by SMS, otherwise everyone in the workspace will receive your message by SMS.
Steps to send a message as urgent:

- From the left hand side of the home screen, open the chat group that you want to send the message as urgent in.
- Make sure Chat is visible by selecting, 'Split view', 'Chat Only' from the dropdown, or by clicking on the Chat icon on the right.
- Write your message but do not hit send yet. (If you'd like to send the message by SMS only to specific people, @mention them here).
- Click the plus button
to the left of the message.
- Select Send as Urgent.
- Select Got it!
- Send the message by pressing the send button
- From the home screen, open the chat group that you want to send the message as urgent in.
- Write your message and do not hit send yet. (If you'd like to send the message by SMS only to specific people, @mention them here).
- Click the plus button
to the left of the message.

- Send the message by pressing the send button
