Customization features inside of Coast are constantly being improved and added to. You may see other fields not listed here in workflows that have been created by Coast. If you have questions about adding a field that you do not see here, please contact Support. Below is a list of the fields that are currently available for customization.
Customization is only available in no-code workflows in the library labeled with “Custom”. If the workflow you are using does not have these features, you can ask our team about migrating over to one with these advanced features. These customization features right now are only available on Desktop: please log into your Coast account by visiting app.coastapp.com.
Fields Available for Customization:
Field type | Description |
Assignee | This field allows people to select from a list of people who are in this workspace. Multiple people may be selected. This field is tied to reminders and the Personal view. Learn more: Primary Assignee Field |
Due Date |
This field allows people to use a date picker to select a date. This date controls where a card appears on a calendar, and is also tied to repeat and reminders. Learn more: Primary Date Field |
Multi-Select | This field allows users to select from a list of tags and add multiple selections. As the workspace editor you can allow users to create new tags or only select from a set list of tags. |
Single-Select | This field allows users to select one tag from a list of options. As the workspace editor you can allow users to create new tags or only select from a set list of tags. |
Person | This field allows people to select from a list of people who are in this workspace. Multiple people may be selected. Learn how this field is different than the Primary Assignee Field |
Date Picker | This field allows people to use a date picker to select a date. Learn how this field is different than the Primary Date Field |
Short Text | This field allows people to enter short pieces of text. It will always appear on a single line. |
Long Text | This field allows people to enter long pieces of text that might span multiple lines. Best for adding descriptions or notes. |
Number | This field has 3 sub-options: Basic (no additional formatting), Dollar (will auto-add a dollar sign and decimal point), Percentage (will convert to percentage and add a percentage sign) |
Image Upload | Allows users to images (as well as files), the icon displayed will be a camera icon. |
File Upload | Allows users to add files (including images), the icon displayed will be a file icon. |
Address | This field will allow users to search for an address and display a thumbnail sized image of this address on a map. This map is clickable and will automatically open to this location on google maps. |
Share Location | This field allows users to create a snapshot of their current location. A pin will be dropped and will appear on the card with their name, a time stamp and their location on a thumbnail sized map. (Commonly used to verify clock-in or time-card locations) |
Created On | This field will display a timestamp of when the card was created. It cannot be altered and will not appear on the 'Create' form until after the card has been saved. |
Card ID Number | This field will display a number unique to that card in that workspace. It cannot be altered and will not appear on the 'Create' form until after the card has been saved. |
Signature | This field allows users to enter a signature using their cursor (on desktop) or their finger (on mobile). |
To-do List | This field allows uses to create simple to-do lists with a check mark next to simple text. These lists can be added to on the fly. The title displays a count of the tasks checked off as well as the total number of tasks in the list. |
